Real Talk: Bridal FAQs
Ideally, you want to begin your bridal dress journey about 9 to 12 months before your wedding day. Here’s why: many designers need 6 to 8 months to create your gown, and you’ll want to allow an extra 2 to 3 months for perfecting alterations. Starting early means less stress, plenty of time to find the one, and a flawless fit when you say “I do.”
First of all—go you. We support every bride on her health journey, whether it’s about fitness, confidence, or feeling your best on your big day.
That said, let’s talk truth: your wedding dress is not coming from a warehouse. It's made just for you—cut, sewn, and finished to order. No two are exactly alike, and that’s part of the magic!
Short answer: The earlier, the better. Real answer: Like, seriously—start now.
Your body is amazing, and so is your goal. Whether you're toning up, building strength, or slimming down, every bride’s body changes differently. Some lose inches, others build muscle. Some drop a size but stay the same in the bust.
Here’s the truth:
Wedding gowns are not mass-produced or pulled from a shelf. They are made to order just for you.
Your dress needs 6–8 months to arrive—and that’s before alterations.
If you wait too long, you may be limited to off-the-rack options, which can restrict style, size, and trend availability.
But here’s the good news: ✨ Skilled seamstresses can usually take your gown down 1–2 dress sizes if you slim down after ordering. ✨ We work with you to factor in where your body is trending and help you make the most confident decision when it's time to say YES.
You deserve your dream dress—not just what’s left on the rack. This is the dress you’ll be photographed in, remembered in, and told stories about. Let's make it iconic.
We totally get it — sometimes life moves fast! If your wedding is coming up soon, we do have an Express Bridal Rush Appointment to speed things up.
But heads up: all our gowns are designer made-to-order, so we don’t carry off-the-rack dresses ready to grab and go.
To make sure your dress is ready and fits like a dream, we need at least 4 full months from your appointment time to your wedding day. Less than that, and we just can’t make it happen. If you are a bride who is envisioning having certain unique customizations, please know it is less likely with the time constraints of a rush order and alterations timeline — the sooner you come in and the more time you give yourself, the better.
Rush orders mean extra fees and a bit more stress, so the sooner you start, the more relaxed and fun your dress journey will be. Trust us — giving yourself time means you get to soak in every magical moment without the last-minute scramble.
You’ve got this — and we’re here to help every step of the way!
